TERMINOLOGY
Retiring Ponies
When a pony is put into retirement, this means that production of that particular pony will cease forever, and there will be no more of that particular pony ever produced. This, in effect, turns that pony into a limited edition and increases the figurine's value. The decision to retire certain Ponies is made by The Trail Of Painted Ponies in the U.S. Sometimes, a Painted Pony that is very popular is retired which obviously greatly increases the value and appeal of that Pony!
Discontinued Ponies
These are ponies that Jasnor has low stock of and are NOT planning to be re-ordered. Please note, that production of these ponies by the manufacturer still continues, however stock is no longer available from Jasnor. Stock is discontinued for various reasons: making room for new additions to the range, the item may not be selling well, or there may be an un-foreseen delay with manufacturing/ supply, etc. Occasionally, the decision is made to bring back stock of these items deemed as „discontinued‟ – this is the reason why it is important to make the distinction between retired and discontinued product.
